Workflow

The payoff ledger, simplified.

1. Add your debts

Scan a monthly statement with your camera or add details manually. Review the balance, APR, and minimum before saving. Installment debts can be entered manually.

2. Pick your strategy

Compare methods side-by-side. Compare estimated payoff dates and interest using the same payment budget. Every calculation is done locally on your device.

3. Track every payment

Record payments as you make them. Your projected debt-free date updates in real-time. Projections are estimates based on your current inputs and estimated interest accrual.

Compare Payoff Strategies

Compare where your extra payment goes after the minimums.

Method Logic Priority
Snowball
Pay smallest balances first, regardless of APR. Close the smallest debt first.
Avalanche
Pay highest interest rates first. Focus on the highest borrowing rate.
Hybrid
Target the smallest balance when the APR spread is less than two percentage points; otherwise target the highest APR. Switch automatically based on the APR spread.

* Debt-free dates and interest savings are projections based on your entered data.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Do I need to connect my bank?

No. There is no bank linking, no Plaid, and no sign-in account. You type or scan in your debts. The core ledger and generated requests stay on your device.

Can I track Affirm, Klarna, Upgrade, or other loan accounts?

Yes, add them as debts manually or scan a statement. Automatic Plaid-style linking is not in the app today, which keeps the privacy story simple: no bank connection and no credentials.

What's the difference between avalanche, snowball, and hybrid?

After minimums, avalanche targets the highest APR and snowball targets the smallest balance. Debtless hybrid targets the smallest balance when the APR spread is less than two percentage points, and the highest APR otherwise. Compare projected timelines using the same budget.

What does the Plan Assistant actually do?

On compatible Apple Intelligence devices, it explains payoff methods and scenarios using the app-calculated math from the debts you entered. Questions are processed on-device. It is a planning and education tool, not a financial adviser, and does not provide financial advice.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your debts, payments, Plan Assistant history, statement processing, and generated requests stay on your device. There is no Debtless cloud sync, user account, or network AI fallback. Full privacy policy.

Is every feature really free?

Yes. Debtless has no subscription, in-app purchase, paywall, advertising, or paid feature tier. If it helps, the only thing I ask is an honest App Store review.

Why does this exist?

I built it because the other debt apps either nagged me or buried the one number I actually cared about: when am I free. So I put that number at the top of the screen and made everything else get out of the way.

Android?

Not yet. Solo dev, one app at a time.
